Committee Member (Since 29/07/12)
I have been a Hockey fan since 1995 and a Phoenix fan and Season Ticket holder since our first season. I enjoy travelling to away games and am very lucky to have only missed 2 Phoenix games in their history. I was privileged to have been voted on to the Supporters Club committee for the 2012-13 season and I would love to be voted on to the board again for 13-14.
I think we made really good progress, but I believe we can achieve more. We need to make the Supporters Club an integral part of the Phoenix.
You will have seen me at the Supporters Club desk on game nights and I attend all the events. Phoenix is a massive part of my life and I want to continue to do my bit to help us succeed.
I have worked for HMRC for 30 years and live in Salford with my partner of 29 years Pete and our cat Kipper.
David H Kinsey
Chairperson (Since 31/07/11)
I have been following ice hockey since the second season of Manchester Storm and have been a Season Ticket holder with Phoenix since the rink at Altrincham opened.
I have been on the Committee of a local Aviation Society for many years now, quite a number of those years in the post of Chairman.
I would be honoured to continue to serve in the role of Chairperson of the Phoenix Supporters Club for the next twelve months and hope that we can have another highly successful season.
Committee Member (Since 29/07/12)
I've been a huge Phoenix fan as well as a season ticket holder for years and became involved with the supporters club for the 2012/13 season to give something back to the club.
I am motivated, highly organised and want to help, not only in raising money but with making the supporters club a vital part of any Phoenix fan's experience. I enjoyed working with the board members during the last season. I'm looking forward to the challenge to make the supporters club even more exciting for the coming season.
Secretary (Since 07/03/10)
My name is Julie Forrester and for those that don’t know me, I have been a board member of the MPSC since it’s inception.
I am usually to be found on the SC desk on match nights where I liaise with the Manchester Phoenix supporters and take bookings for events, help with fund-raising and all manner of other routine tasks. I also administer the fan’s away travel on the team coach on behalf of the hockey club and travel to most away games this way. Last year I was fortunate to be able to attend every game home and away.
I enjoy working with the Supporters’ Club and would like to continue in my role. I am passionate about the sport and enjoy trying to make the experience more enjoyable for supporters. During the 2012/13 season the SC manages to assist the hockey club in numerous ways and I feel that the experience I have gained in the last four years will enable me to help the Supporters’ Club evolve and improve, thus assisting the hockey club further.
Although I am in full time employment, my children are adults and I feel I am able to devote as much time as necessary to the role. My family are fully supportive of my efforts.
I have been a follower of Ice Hockey in Manchester for many years now, and while that doesn't necessarily warrant a spot on the board I do feel I have a lot to offer the Supporters club.
Prior to the end of this season, I have been heavily involved within the Manchester Phoenix Organisation first as helper on the ticket desk, than as a photographer, before moving into the post of Head of Photography and Imaging. This was a post I held for two years and in that time I have gained a good understanding of how the Hockey club works and its relationship with the fans, while at the same time gaining a good working relationship with Neil Morris and other members of the Phoenix Organisation.
I feel I can bring this experience to Supporters Club and help better communication between the Supporters Club and the Phoenix organisation as well as using my knowledge in marketing and promotion (in my full time job at the University of Manchester) to continue to build on the strong foundations that have already been laid down by the current board members.
I have been a member of the supporters club for three years now and have helped out on several occasions with photography and print, plus utilising my design skills with the promotion of events and helping to write speeches for end of season awards etc.
I have the experience of being on committees/boards (in amateur dramatics). This has helped me to gain an understanding of how to manoeuvre a non-for profit organisation, and how to improve in such difficult financial times.
I feel I will bring a new dynamic approach the board and help the Supporters Club onto bigger and better things.
Treasurer (Since 01/09/10)
Most of you will know me as a volunteer on match nights where I look after the pre-paid collections, dragging ticket money from anybody that will part with it and looking after the odd guest or two invited by the players.
I have been a keen supporter of ice hockey for more years than I care to mention and a board member of the Supporters Club since its inception in the 2009/2010 season.
I try to do as much as I possibly can, whenever I can to keep ice hockey in Manchester. I would be happy to continue as a board member for a further term if the current members decide to re-elect me. I am keen to continue helping the club go from strength to strength.
